澳大利亚移民部长最近指定了留学生申请技术移民时可以获得加分的21个专业，这些专业基本集中在通常所说的STEM（科学、技术、工程和数学）学科或者指定的ICT（信息技术和通信技术）相关领域的学科。。
如果在澳洲大学通过2年学习获得这21个专业的研究性硕士或博士学位，在申请技术移民时，可以获得额外的5分加分。
